Things to be Remembered
Machine embroidered piece where the composition is developed from a combination of observation, imagination and memories. Free drawn with a sewing machine onto fabrics which were individually coloured with acrylic paints and appliqued onto a natural hessian background fabric. This composition uses visual devices, such as the imagery becoming gradually smaller and fainter towards the top of the picture, giving a feeling of distance in the work which represents memories fading. The whole piece is stretched on a wooden frame and presented in an unglazed white tray frame. Approximate size 65cm x 105cm.
